Martin has worked in the third party logistics sector for over 25 years working in a wide variety of leadership roles in operations, solutions and product development with Exel Logistics and latterly DHL. His experience covers all market sectors but with a particular focus on Automotive and Industrial companies.
He has designed and implemented supply chain transformations for many ‘blue chip’ companies, across a European or global scope and has a good track record of managing complex supply chain transformation projects which have delivered considerable cost and service level benefits.
Martin, also developed DHL Supply Chain’s LLP offering, creating processes, commercial frameworks and the operational capability necessary to generate logistics costs savings to DHL’s clients. This was achieved through network optimization, improved procurement, infrastructure rationalization, inventory reduction and the implementation of new planning routines.
He has a particular interest in outsourcing strategy, the relationships between clients & their 3PLs and how a truly value-creating environment can be established in outsourced operations. Creating an environment in which 3PLs were more proactive, client’s procurement of logistic services was more imaginative & innovative and supply chains would be continually improved & re-optimised.
