Ian Canadine FCILT OBE, Director
Ian trained as a Chemical Engineer and, after attaining
Chartered status, spent many years with ICI in research, techno-commercial
and management roles in production and distribution. His final post was
Head of Distribution Advisory Group with worldwide responsibilities.
He chaired the Distribution Policy Committee of the European Chemical
Federation and served on many Government and industry committees and advisory
groups.
On retiring from ICI, Ian became Director-General of the Institute of
Logistics, steering it through a period of major expansion, which culminated
in its merger with the Chartered Institute of Transport to become the
Institute of Logistics and Transport.
He retired from the position of Chief Executive of the ILT in January
2000, and was awarded the OBE for services to the Institute in the 2001
New Year’s Honours List.
Ian both chairs and presents at many national and international conferences.
His consultancy experience spans quality assurance, safety audits and
environmental issues, process strategy and project management.
