The terms ‘Logistics’ and ‘Supply Chain’ are often substituted and the terminology is sometimes confusing. At Bisham Consulting we have developed our own definition as the figure below illustrates.

For us, Supply Chain Management means the design and management of all strategic and operational aspects of the chain from supplier to customer. It covers the physical, financial and information flows from the customer forecast through to order entry and from rough cut production planning to final customer delivery.

By Logistics, we mean the expertise related to the physical operations of moving, storing and handling raw materials, intermediates or final product.
