Derek Bliss FCILT, Director

Derek has extensive experience in logistics and transport. At Unilever, he held several roles involved in the strategic planning and operational management of logistics within the food, chemical and agricultural sectors.

Subsequently, he became Head of Road Transport Services in the Royal Mail Consulting Business, and was responsible for the specification, procurement and maintenance of the Royal Mail road fleet of 28,000 vehicles. He provided consultancy services in fleet and environmental management, quality systems and computerised vehicle routing and scheduling.

At Bisham, Derek is actively involved in the development of multi-modal transport and systems, and heads our Intermodal Logistics business.

Derek is a Fellow of the Institute of Logistics and Transport and a member of the National Council. He is a former Director of the Freight Transport Association. He frequently presents papers at conferences on Logistics, the Environment, and new forms of freight transport.
